Appendix #4

Audio Configuration and Narrative Description Track Language

     The first two characters denote the soundtrack configuration:

51 = 5.1
61 = 6.1
71 = 7.1  (5 channels behind the screen, LS, RS.)
20 = 2.0  (LtRt)

     If a DCP contains a Narrative Description Track (an audio description of the action for sight impaired patrons,) the language should be denoted after the first two characters with a hyphen and then the ISO 639-1, 639-2, or 639-3 language code.  For example:

51-EN = 5.1 audio with an English language Narrative Description Track.
