The first two characters denote the soundtrack configuration:

|
51 = 5.1
|
|
|
|
61 = 6.1
|
|
|
|
71 = 7.1 (5 channels behind the screen, LS, RS.)
|
|
|
|
20 = 2.0 (LtRt)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
If a DCP contains a Narrative Description Track (an audio description of the action for sight impaired patrons,) the language should be denoted after the first two characters with a hyphen and then the ISO 639-1, 639-2, or 639-3 language code. For example:
|
|
|
|
51-EN = 5.1 audio with an English language Narrative Description Track.
